in which Mel is reminded

this week at VR Alex talked about something called a "connecting trigger". it's basically just something that, whenever you see it or hear it, reminds you of God and/or something that He's done in your life, somewhere where He has been prominent or faithful.

my connecting trigger is the word "love". there's always been this fear in me, that, if i mess up too many times or too big, people will stop loving me or won't care about me. but then, i hear the word 'love', and it's gotten to the point that whenever i hear it, i think of God, and of all the times when i've felt embarrassed or ashamed, and he's always been there saying to me, "i love you and i always will, no matter what".

i have this little thing on my desk, and every day, i clip a notecard to it that has the date and a funny quote or a meaningful verse written on it. i love being able to do school at my desk and then look up and read the quote and smile or see the verse and feel encouraged. and, hey, it's also pretty handy to have the date written right in front of you while you're doing school so you don't have to find the calendar. anyway. today, my notecard simply said LOVE. and every time i looked at it, i was reminded of how God's love for me is unfailing.
